Debbie Stevens writes sweet, clean, wholesome romances. The stories in her books are based on real-world experiences and situations that her friends and family members have lived through. With some dramatic flair thrown in, of course.
These are not the type of spicy romances that makes you blush when you’re reading in public. Her books stay firmly within the PG-13 rating, with barely hinted physical intimacy. Debbie makes good use of the old “fade to black” mechanic to keep her books family-friendly (mostly because all her relatives read her books).
But don’t mistake the lack of spiciness for lack of quality. Though her characters don’t engage in sexy fun times, they are compelling and engaging. The reader can’t help but root for them, and cheer when they get their happily-ever-afters.
